Prof. Dr. Jamil Awad Shibli is a full-time Professor at Guarulhos University and currently serves as Dean of Dental Research and Graduate Education at Faculdade Israelita Albert Einstein in São Paulo, Brazil. He also holds international academic appointments as a Visiting Professor at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium and as an Adjunct Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in the United States.
Prof. Shibli earned his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Periodontology in 2000 and 2003, respectively, with research focusing on peri-implant diseases and the microbiological profiles associated with these conditions in both pre-clinical and clinical settings. His doctoral training included research periods at the Department of Oral Biology at SUNY Buffalo (USA) and the Department of Oral Pathology at the University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy).
An internationally recognized researcher in the fields of Oral Implantology and Periodontology, Prof. Shibli’s work spans a wide range of topics including peri-implant diseases, guided bone regeneration, implant surface modifications, growth factors, stem cells, scaffolds, 3D printing, laser applications, and clinical trials. His contributions continue to advance innovation and evidence-based practices in implant dentistry and regenerative therapies.
