Prof. Emeritus Dr. Niklaus P. Lang is a globally acclaimed expert in periodontology and implant dentistry. He served as Chairman at the University of Berne, Switzerland (1980–2008) and was Professor of Implant Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong (2008–2012). Holding advanced degrees including a Dr. med. dent., MS in Periodontics (Michigan), and PhD, he has received multiple honorary doctorates and professorships from institutions across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

A prolific researcher with over 850 peer-reviewed publications, several textbooks, and an h-index of 127, he has delivered more than 5,000 lectures across five continents. He is the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of Clinical Oral Implants Research (1990–2016) and an honorary member of over 15 international periodontal societies.
