Dr. Rasidah Hj Ayob is the National Head of Periodontics at the Ministry of Health Malaysia and Head of the Periodontics Unit at the Dental Specialist Centre, Negeri Sembilan. With over 35 years of clinical and leadership experience, she has made significant contributions to the advancement of periodontal services in Malaysia.
Dr. Rasidah received her BDS from the University of Malaya (1990), MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a Certificate in Clinical Science from UCL (2002). She completed her Master of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology at Eastman Dental Institute, UCL, and earned a Certificate in Periodontology from the European Federation of Periodontology (2005).
Her clinical and research interests focus on periodontal and peri-implant regeneration, periodontal plastic surgery, aggressive periodontitis, and post-trauma pediatric bone reconstruction. She is a key advocate for the use of halal-compliant, blood-derived biomaterials in surgery and actively leads collaborative research between the MOH and academic institutions.
A seasoned educator, she has trained numerous dental professionals through national in-house training and mentorship programs. She also serves on the Professional Qualifying Examination and Dental Specialist Evaluation Committees under the Malaysian Dental Council, and has held leadership roles within MDA, SCODOS, and the Malaysian Society of Periodontology.
